About

London-based, with 7 years’ experience in Product Management, specialising in web

Having worked across a breadth of products, I’ve found working on websites and ecommerce to be the most rewarding; it challenges you to not only present a smooth customer experience to the user, but also to sell them things along the way (not to mention the results of your labour are usually the main source of revenue for the business).

I approach website management in four clear, linear workstreams:

  • Research & Data

    • Understanding the user innately, both in terms of commercial tendencies and UX preferences

    • Building confidence in decision-making (including with internal stakeholders) by being thoroughly data-backed

    • Sharing progress and updates on key metrics regularly

  • Experimentation

    • De-risking innovation - split-testing allows risky developments to take place in an environment of mitigated risk

    • Having absolute confidence in the development of a feature once it has been proven to work

  • Development

    • Working very closely with Developers and other Product People to get an accurate feature released on time

  • Reporting and continuous analysis

    • It’s important not just to push a change live and move on - plus, in a large business, showing the continued impact of each change you make helps to build confidence

Outside of work

  • Rugby - watching, not playing any more!

  • Sailing - a few times a year in Cornwall and Greece - I’m a qualified Day Skipper.

  • Travel - each year my partner and I try and go to one long-haul destination. Covid-notwithstanding, we’ve been to some amazing places and have plenty left on our bucket list.

  • Music - I play drums and piano.

  • Reading - I did an English Literature degree which confirmed a love of books, mainly fiction but often non-fiction too.
